Developmental Disabilities

BHSSC’s Developmental Disabilities (DD) Division is one of 22 Community Support Providers in South Dakota who support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

“Working Together to Achieve Goals and Dreams!” is our mission. We offer services in the Northern Black Hills and in Hot Springs, South Dakota, where we work in partnership with participants, families, community organizations, and community members to support people to get the lives they want.

Developmental Disabilities

BHSSC’s Developmental Disabilities Division has a four year Person Centered Excellence Accreditation from the Council on Quality and Leadership and maintains certifications from the South Dakota Department of Health, South Dakota Department of Human services, and the South Dakota Department of Education.

Randy Morris

Randy Morris is remembered as a visionary and compassionate leader who transformed education and community services in South Dakota. He championed meeting unmet needs, expanded programs to serve both children and adults, and built strong teams by empowering others. Known for his advocacy, kindness, and ability to connect people and ideas, he made a lasting impact both on individuals and at a systems level. His legacy reflects a deep commitment to making a difference—whether for one person or an entire community.
